Tori Bowie passed away : Ms. Bowie was discovered dead at her residence after the sheriff’s office reported going there ‘for a well-being check of a woman in her 30s who had not been seen or heard from for several days’.

According to a report in USA Today, Tori Bowie, an American sprinter, and long jumper who won three Olympic medals and two world championships in the sport, passed away at the age of 32 in early May as a result of complications during childbirth. According to her agent Kimberly Holland, she was in the middle of labor when she passed away.

She was at her Florida home when she passed away, according to the agent. “Unfortunately, there are a lot of people making assumptions about what she may have done to herself, including the media, which is very hurtful. So hopefully there will be many apologies now that everyone is aware of the truth, she told the outlet.

Ms. Bowie had a “well-developed fetus” and was nearly eight months pregnant, according to an autopsy report accessed by USA Today. When she passed away last month, she was in the middle of labor. The athletes’ risks, according to the officials, included respiratory distress and eclampsia, a condition that causes seizures after a sudden rise in blood pressure during pregnancy.

The cause of death was determined to be natural by the Orange County Medical Examiner Officer.

The sprinter brought home three medals from the Rio 2016 Olympic Games: a gold in the 4×100-meter relay, a silver in the 100-meter relay, and a bronze in the 200-meter race. At the 2017 World Championships, she also won the gold medals in the 4×100-meter relay and the 100-meter race.

The most recent significant international competition she participated in was the World Athletics Championships in 2019, where she finished fourth in the long jump. In June 2022, she competed in her final official match.
